Good to know

Questions, answered.

Lead times, handmade variation, how buying works, custom orders, shipping, returns, and care — the things buyers ask most.

  • Almost everything is made to order in small batches, so most pieces ship within 2–4 weeks; larger or more involved pieces (teapots, platters, custom work) take 4–6 weeks or more. Each listing shows its own lead time, and you’ll get a note when your kiln is loaded and again when it ships.

  • It will be the same form and glaze, but not a pixel-perfect copy. Every pot is thrown and glazed by hand, so size, speckling, and the way the glaze breaks vary slightly from piece to piece — including within a matching set. That honest variation is the charm of handmade work, never a flaw.

  • Checkout happens on Etsy, where the shop, secure payment, and order tracking all live. Each item links straight to its Etsy listing — tap “Shop on Etsy” and you’re there. For anything not in stock or for a custom piece, use the custom-order form instead.

  • Because everything is made to order, “sold out” usually just means that batch is in the queue. Favorite the Etsy shop to be notified of restocks, or request the piece through the custom-order form and I’ll re-throw it for you.

  • Yes — weddings and registries, café and restaurant runs, gifts, and pieces in a custom glaze are some of my favorite work. Start with the custom-order form; I’ll reply within a couple of business days with feasibility, a quote, and a timeline. A 50% deposit reserves your slot in the studio queue.

  • Absolutely. Many pieces are sold singly or as sets, and you can build a set over time or commission one all at once. For larger or fully-matched sets, the custom-order form is the best path so I can throw them together from the same glaze batch.

  • I ship worldwide from Asheville, North Carolina. Pottery is fragile, so every piece is double-wrapped and boxed to survive the post; in the rare event something arrives broken, send a photo within 7 days and I’ll make it right with a repair, replacement, or refund.

  • Ready-made pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery in original condition (buyer covers return shipping). Custom and commissioned pieces are made just for you and are non-returnable. If anything arrives damaged, that’s on me — I’ll replace or refund it.

  • Most pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe (noted on the listing), but hand-washing keeps glazes brightest and protects handles and any cane fittings. Avoid sudden temperature shocks — don’t take a pot from the freezer to the oven. See the Materials & Care page for the full guide.
